Tax Manager

"Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients is extremely important to me."

SB&P

My aim is to make it easy for clients to understand their compliance requirements. Therefore, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients is extremely important to me; I want my clients to know I’m only a phone call away and they can approach me at any time with any difficulties they may be encountering.

I support a diverse portfolio of personal and corporate clients dealing with all aspects of taxation across multiple sectors, from high net worth individuals and family businesses to professional practices and large corporates. My work mainly focuses on ensuring all tax deadlines are met and that clients are fully aware of their obligations. However, I also regularly advise clients on Capital Gains Tax, HMRC enquiries and Research and Development claims.

A bit about my background
I started my career as a tax trainee in a local independent firm of chartered accountants, when I was just 16. I joined SB&P in 2016, bringing 27 years of varied experience in personal and corporate tax compliance, having previously worked for several other independent and international firms.

What is the most exciting thing on your bucket list?
A Sky Dive – which I have now done! I have wanted to jump out of a plane since I was a teenager. The feeling of free falling though the sky combined with the fear of the parachute opening or not – pure adrenaline.

What one piece of advice would you give your 10-year-old self?
It would be more than one! Listen to your Dad, he really does know best. Never take no for an answer. Never say can’t. You can do and achieve anything if you believe in yourself and give it your all.

If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?
My Dad – He passed away when I was seventeen. He was the most inspirational and wise person I have ever known and despite his deteriorating health, he never let it stop him. He saw the good in everyone. I would love to tell him about my family; to be able to share my problems and achievements and get his advice.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
It would have to be Time Manipulation. The ability to slow it down, speed it up, rewind, fast forward or pause it.
