We believe in building strong relationships both with our clients and with the local business community, so that we can understand and respond to the individual needs of the people and businesses that we act for.  We like to see our clients prosper and we can help you to achieve your business and financial goals through our extensive services, whilst maintaining one-to-one relationships.  Whether you need help with setting up, managing or developing your business, or advice on optimising your personal or family finances, we are here to help get the best results for you.

Clients

Our clients range from large private companies to self-employed individuals and are engaged in a diverse range of business activities including property and construction, retail, manufacturing, medical, professional practices and leisure.  We also have expertise in specialist sectors such as Charities and not-for-profit organisations and Pension Schemes.

History

SB&P was originally founded in 1968 when Satterthwaite & Pomfret merged with R J Brooks & Co.  The new partnership, Satterthwaite Brooks & Pomfret, then moved to Oriel House in Bootle, Merseyside, which was designed and built by longstanding clients.

In 1974 the original partners, E Satterthwaite and C Pomfret, retired.  However the company continued to grow, merging with Henderson & Eastwood Accountants in 1978, followed by Croasdell & Co in 1996.  In 2003 Satterthwaite Brooks & Pomfret became a limited liability partnership when it joined forces with Bridgegate Corporate Finance Limited, a specialist Corporate Finance and Forensic Accounting firm.  On 1 September 2008 Satterthwaite Brooks & Pomfret LLP changed its name to SB&P LLP and Bridgegate Corporate Finance Limited changed its name to SB&P Corporate Finance Limited.

SB&P has a long history yet we have continued to evolve, adapting our business to ensure that we  meet the demands of both our long-standing and new clients in what is a fast moving, complex and highly competitive environment.  We continue to invest in new technology, and in staff training and development, to support our growth.

Oriel House remains our principal office, being easily accessible by road and rail networks. The major refurbishment of Oriel House, begun in 2008, includes the extension and redevelopment of our car park that now provides ample parking for clients.

People

We continue to focus on the development of our staff as our firm grows.
